Finding Our Place: Where
we live influences how we worship.
Wendell Berry said "If you don't know where you are,
you don't know who you are." We live out our lives in a place and how we
understand this place influences almost everything we do. We worship and serve
a God who understands the importance of place, who uses a narrative grounded in
geographical space to communicate his enduring love for all of this world.
This video is a compilation of images that are intended to
invoke a sense of place for those who live in Hamilton, ON. The images are
meant to reflect a wide range of situations within the city, showing the
contrasted fabric of the city; that includes work, leisure, faith, darkness,
temptation, hope, and loss while at the same time acknowledging that Jesus
reigns throughout. As you view these
images, theologically reflect upon How
God sees our city. What does the Lord consider when he views these
photographs?
